Nonresident Training (MTT)
What is Nonresident Training?
In addition to the resident programs offered at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP), the CDP provides nonresident training that brings training to the responders at their home jurisdictions. The nonresident courses are designed to furnish professional, challenging, and safe training applicable for the emergency response community. The CDP delivers this training using highly qualified Mobile Training Teams (MTT) who travel to your jurisdiction to deliver selected courses.
How do you get nonresident training in your jurisdiction?
The process of scheduling and receiving nonresident training selected for your jurisdiction is accomplished in just a few easy steps. Please allow a minimum of 90 days to process nonresident training requests.

- Choose courses from the selection listed above by category
- Detailed information about these courses can be accessed through their respective links
- Most nonresident courses require a minimum of 50 students

- Identify and reserve appropriate local training facility
- Tables and chairs to accommodate all students (consider course manuals and note taking space requirements)
- Audio/visual (A/V) equipment: projection screen
- Large white board (or chalkboard)
- Table for administrative materials
- Securable room for administrative support; should include table, chair, and power outlets (alternatives to security requirements for equipment may be coordinated with the course manager)
- Lunch (requirements may be coordinated with the course manager)
- Transportation for responders if required
- A site visit may be required prior to training. Coordinate with your course manager for additional information concerning the site visit
Costs?
- Training costs: CDP nonresident training courses are free to eligible jurisdictions
- Overtime expenses: Please inform your course manager of any union considerations concerning the length of the training day, or the start and end times. The CDP does not wish for an agency to incur unnecessary overtime expenses.
