Course Description

The THREAT course is a one-day, 8-hour training course providing instruction and information about the items most likely to be used by terrorists, ways terrorist conduct surveillance, and ways to combat terrorism.

Prerequisites

AWR-160 WMD Standardized Awareness Training Program (SAT) course or another Department of Homeland Security (DHS) certified awareness-level course
PER-264 Law Enforcement Protective Measures (LEPM) course
PER-265 Law Enforcement Response Actions (LERA) course
IS-700 National Incident Management System (NIMS), An Introduction (IS700) course
ICS-100 Introduction to ICS (ICS100) course
ICS-200 ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents (ICS200) course

Course Size

Minimum 50 responders/maximum 60 responders

Host/Jurisdiction Requirements and Responsibilities

Fifty to 60-person environmentally controlled (HVAC) classroom with room for course manuals and note taking (see photo 1)
Three tables for equipment display

Participant Requirements

Agency-prescribed dress or uniform for class is appropriate for inside training
Course manuals for class
No personal or agency weapons (including impact and less-lethal weapons), live ammunition, weapon magazines, or flash bangs are to be on the responders or in the training area (including classroom) at any time during this course.
We ask that cell phones and pagers be turned off during class
