Course Description The HCL course is a four-day, 32-hour course that provides healthcare responders an opportunity to address realistic decisions regarding an all-hazards disaster in a facility-based exercise. The course is a combination of lecture and exercises, providing responders a foundation on which to make critical decisions during the fast-paced final exercise. The course includes lectures on decision making in a disaster; ICS, NIMS, and HICS in a healthcare facility; IEMS; PPE and decontamination procedures in a healthcare facility; and media/public information.
