Course Description The Managing Civil Actions in Threat Incidents (MCATI) Protester Devices course is a 24-hour training course that provides the responder with the ability to identify the purpose of protester devices; identify the various types of locking protester devices used in civil actions; discuss legal issues as they relate to the use of and the extrication of individuals from protester devices; outline the responsibilities of extrication team members; compare the roles and responsibilities of the extrication team with other law enforcement assets; demonstrate the safe operation of tools used to extricate an individual from protester devices; and demonstrate methods of extricating an individual from protester devices. The course will be preceeded by a 15-question pretest. There will be a 30-question post-test. At the conclusion of the course, the responder will demonstrate knowledge to manage civil actions in threat incidents relating to protester devices.
