REP Disaster Initiated ReviewRDIR AWR-318 5 Contact Hours
The target audience for this course is Federal, State, Local, Utility, and Tribal Emergency Managers that may be involved in the Program Disaster Initiated Review (DIR) process.
The purpose of this course is to provide emergency managers, from Offsite Response Organizations (OROs) within the 10 or 50-mile Emergency Planning Zones (EPZs) of a NRC-licensed commercial nuclear power plant, with the fundamental knowledge of the Preliminary Capabilities Assessment (PCA) or if warranted the Disaster Initiated Review (DIR) process, as referenced in the FEMA Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) Program Disaster Initiated Review (DIR) Standard Operating Guide (SOG), Post-Disaster Assessment of Offsite Capabilities Checklists, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Inspection Manual (IM) Chapter 1601.

Prerequisites and Requirements
- Complete the AWR-317 REP Core Concepts Course (RCCC)
- Exceptions to any of the above prerequisites may be granted on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the REP Regional Course Manager (RCM).
