The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labeling of chemicals. The GHS was adopted in 2003 by the United Nations (UN) and by OSHA in 2012 as a means to classify health, physical, and environmental hazards, as well as specifying what information should be included on labels of hazardous chemicals.
