Radioactive Materials Packages

A general rule of thumb for Type A containers is that they do not contain life endangering radiation levels or doses even if they are damaged or leaking.

Type A packages are made of strong steel, wood or fiberboard and are used to transport small quantities of radioactive material with high radioactivity levels.
