The effects of acute radiation doses greater than approximately 0.7 Gy (70 rads) are collectively known as acute radiation sickness.
Acute radiation sickness symptoms include the following:
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- High fever
- Hair loss (epilation)
- Burns
- Changes in blood cells
- Vascular changes (blood vessels)
- Gastrointestinal system effects
