Dr. Guillermo's Curricula Vitae

Dr. Guillermo J. Pierluisi is the Consulting Physician Medical Director for the Center of Domestic Preparedness and its EMS and healthcare content training and education courses. Dr. Pierluisi’s professional experience and energies extend to additional duties as Urgent Medical Care and Occupational Medicine Clinical Physician, Vice-President of Medical Affairs and Physician Advisor, and Army National Guard Joint Surgeon and Chief Medical Officer in the state of Georgia.

Dr. Pierluisi’s received his medical training from SUNY (Syracuse) and completed his residency at SUNY (Buffalo). While completing an EMS fellowship at University of Pittsburgh, PA., Dr. Pierluisi received his Master of Public Health degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Later he received a Master of Business Administration for Physician Executives from Auburn University.

Certifications include Certified Health Care Quality and Management (CHQM/Diplomate), Certified Physician Executive (CPE), Certified/Diplomate from the American Board of Emergency Medicine, Certified Substance Abuse Medical Review Officer, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification, and Basic Life Support Certification. Dr. Pierluisi is licensed in the southeastern states of Florida, Georgia, and Alabama.

Dr. Pierluisi has presented internationally at conferences in Mexico, Nepal, Puerto Rico, and Columbia on the subjects of disaster and medical preparedness. His publications include operational procedures and tactical practices in special operations.

Currently serving as an active service member (Colonel) in the Georgia Army National Guard, Dr. Pierluisi has received numerous awards and recognition to include the Bronze Star Medal while serving in Afghanistan Meritorious Service Medal and lifetime membership in the Order of Military Medical Merit.

Dr. Pierluisi's duties at CDP include review of medical content, approval of specific courses to receive continuing education units, and analysis of course evaluations.
