CAPCE, ACCME renew CDP accreditations

The Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) recently re-accredited several Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) courses.

Chartered in 1992, CAPCE is an accrediting body for those who provide continuing education to emergency medical services (EMS) providers.

The re-accredited courses include the CDP’s Healthcare Leadership for Mass Casualty Incidents (HCL), Barrier Precautions and Controls for Highly Infectious Disease (HID), Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents (HERT), and Emergency Medical Operations for CBRNE (EMO) offerings.

Three CDP courses – Healthcare Disaster Emergency Planning (HDEP, formerly FRAME), HID and HERT – have also been reaccredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.

All CDP courses are accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training and select CDP courses are also accredited by the Alabama Board of Nursing, American College of Emergency Physicians, the Emergency Nurses Association, and the California Department of Public Health. Additionally, the CDP’s Field Force Operations Course is certified by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training.
