CDP alumni ensure safe Super Bowl LVIII

Nevada first responders collectively tallied more than 2,500 Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) course completions during the past three years.

Consequently, when the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs faced off in Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII, it’s safe to assume numerous CDP graduates were among those who helped ensure the safety of fans and players at the event.

The responders, including law enforcement officers, healthcare personnel and firefighters, trained on the CDP campus in Anniston, Alabama, and at various locations across Nevada. Others attended one or more of the CDP’s virtual offerings or completed one or more of the CDP’s online courses.

The instructors and support staff of the CDP routinely train responders in preparation for National Special Security Events, such as the Super Bowl, Democratic and Republican National Conventions, and presidential inaugurations. Such events draw large crowds and television audiences and are considered to be potential targets for terrorism or other criminal activities.
