CDP announces ‘DREAM’ course pilot
The pilot of the CDP’s new DREAM course will run from December 16-20.
The Center for Domestic Preparedness has announced the dates for the pilot of its new DREAM (Disaster Related Exposure Assessment and Monitoring) course.
The pilot will run from December 16-20.
The DREAM course will teach state, local, tribal and territorial organizations how to properly monitor people exposed to any number of chemical, biological and radiological substances. It will also teach agencies how to establish a surveillance program to track responders who’ve been exposed to hazardous materials.
The course has been in development for most of 2019, with members of the Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, and other public health specialists from across the U.S. helping shape the curriculum. In fact, the group of experts has been on the CDP campus this week, doing a final ‘walk through’ of the course in preparation for the pilot.
The first regular DREAM course will offered sometime in the spring.
