CDP begins week of train-the-trainer classes
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness this week welcomes more than 150 responders from throughout the nation who are here to qualify to deliver select CDP courses to those in their organizations and communities.
Graduates of a course and its associated train-the-trainer class can become indirect trainers for the CDP and teach the course to their fellow responders.
This week’s train-the-trainer courses encompass a variety of professional disciplines, including law enforcement, healthcare, emergency management and the fire service.
Courses being conducted include:
Integrating Communications, Assessment and Tactics (ICAT), ICAT Train-the-Trainer and Bomb Threat Management Planning courses – conducted with the assistance of the Department of Homeland Security’s Office for Bombing Prevention and the Police Executive Research Forum.
Law Enforcement Protective Measures for CBRNE Incidents (LEPM) and LEPM Train-the-Trainer, taught in conjunction with Intermediate Hands-On Training for CBRNE Incidents: Law Enforcement, and Law Enforcement Response Actions for CBRNE Incidents.
Initial Law Enforcement Response to Suicide Bombing Attacks and Law Enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response Train-the-Trainer, instructed by Louisiana State University's National Center for Biomedical Research and Training/Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education.
Hazardous Materials Awareness (HMA) and HMA Train-the-Trainer with Incident Complexities - Responder Actions for CBRNE Incidents.
Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents (HERT) and HERT Train-the-Trainer.
Radiological Series Train-the-Trainer.
