CDP Blood Lab undergoes compliance inspection

The Center for Domestic Preparedness underwent another compliance inspection today – this time an assessment of its blood lab by an inspector from the State of Alabama’s Department of Public Health.

The annual CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) inspection provides an independent and in-depth evaluation of the lab, from how it handles and tests blood samples to how it maintains its records. It ensures the facility is functioning in accordance with the state’s latest guidelines for safe, accurate lab operations.

The CLIA inspection also improves overall operations of the lab, as the inspector routinely shares ‘best practices’ from other reviews he or she has conducted.

The CDP should receive the formal inspection report in two to four weeks.
