CDP course focuses on radiological incident safety
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) offers responders a wide variety of self-paced, web-based, training courses which can be accessed anywhere, through a computer or mobile device.
Among the offerings is Radiological Emergency Management (REM), which teaches students how to prepare for, respond to and recover from radiological events and mitigate the risk of future events. The independent study course takes about seven hours to complete.
REM teaches emergency managers and other responders about the various types of radiological emergencies, the potential effects of radiological emergencies on the public, and how to best ensure their safety and the safety of others during a radiological emergency.
