CDP developing requisite course on climate impacts, equity

FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP), with assistance from FEMA’s Resilience Directorate, is researching information for a course about the impacts climate and weather can have on disaster response, especially in underserved communities.

The course will include material that is important to all emergency responders, including information about FEMA’s Community Lifelines, climate resilience, and how to keep equity in mind during disaster preparedness.

Once finalized, the course will be incorporated into training provided to resident students at the CDP’s campus in Anniston, Alabama.
