CDP distance learning assists with identifying toxic gases
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) offers responders a wide variety of self-paced, web-based training courses which can be accessed anywhere, through a computer or mobile device.
Among the offerings is Toxic Gas-Forming Reactions Training. The one-hour course teaches public safety specialists and other first responders how to recognize, identify and respond to toxic gas threats. It also helps students identify ‘knockdown’ gases and familiarizes them with the materials and equipment used to produce such substances.
Responders interested in the training can learn more by visiting https://cdp.dhs.gov/training/course/AWR-916-W.
Course registration requires a FEMA Student Identification Number or SID. To complete the one-time registration process for a SID, visit https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid/register.
