CDP employee selected for law enforcement working group
A Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) employee has been chosen to participate in a Department of Homeland Security working group focused on mental health and wellness.
Kelly Ryan, a supervisory instructional systems specialist at the center, was notified of his selection in May.
The working group’s goal is to develop a comprehensive, research-informed approach to improving the overall wellness of the department’s law enforcement officers and first responders, which include members of the U.S. Coast Guard, Federal Protective Service (FPS), Transportation Security Agency (TSA), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE), and others.
The CDP currently trains more than 50,000 law enforcement officers and other responders annually.
