CDP exploring sign language video

Representatives of FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) met with members of the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind this week to discuss creating a video of helpful sign language words for responders.

Once produced, the video will become part of the CDP’s microlearning library – a collection of concise training products on the CDP’s YouTube page. The products provide useful information to responders quickly and succinctly.

The CDP’s microlearning library currently houses several other videos, including  videos about transporting hazardous materials, safe cyber practices, and the dangers of fentanyl.

The collection will soon also include a video showing healthcare workers how to safely respond when a coworker is incapacitated in an infectious disease environment.

Responders are encouraged to subscribe to the CDP’s training channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkIoi6TLqSBH7Moy5U_M7Uw. By doing so, they’ll be notified when new microlearning videos are added to the site.
