CDP finalizes Hazardous Materials Officer Course

The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) recently finalized revisions of its new Hazardous Materials Officer Course (HMOC).

The revisions shorten the course from eight days to five, making it more convenient for responders to attend and more efficient for the CDP to deliver.

The course will provide experienced hazardous materials technicians with the knowledge and practical experience necessary to manage complex hazardous materials incidents as part of a hazardous materials branch or group.  A level above technician, HMOC is geared for lead technicians on a team and will teach them why certain decisions are made during an incident.

Though the course has been developed, it has not yet been scheduled.
