CDP has seat openings in two resident courses
There are seats available in two upcoming resident courses at the Center for Domestic Preparedness.
The Basic Emergency Response Training (BERT) and Disaster Related Exposure Assessment and Monitoring (DREAM) courses have openings in classes scheduled the week of December 13-17.
The five-day BERT course teaches responders how to operate several hazardous materials detection and monitoring instruments, survey and assess scenes with hazardous materials, and triage and decontaminate casualties. It culminates with a challenging mass casualty exercise.
DREAM teaches responders how to assess, monitor and track the physical conditions of fellow responders and others following incidents involving chemical, biological or radiological materials. The four-day offering also teaches attendees how to use several software programs developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, which assisted in developing the course.
CDP training for state, local, tribal and territorial responders is fully funded by the Department of Homeland Security to include transportation, lodging and meals.
