CDP hosts roundtable to discuss 2022 National Preparedness Symposium
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) hosted a roundtable today where participants discussed the outline of and possible topics for the 2021 National Preparedness Symposium (NPS) the center will host in May.
The virtual event was attended by about three dozen representatives of FEMA and the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC), along with select State Administrative Agency heads and others. It included remarks by Victoria Salinas, FEMA’s Associate Administrator for Resilience, and Tony Russell, the Acting Assistant Administrator of FEMA’s National Preparedness Directorate and the CDP’s Superintendent.
The annual preparedness symposium provides attendees, including state, tribal and territorial emergency management managers and trainers, the latest information about training offerings across FEMA and those of its partners in the NDPC. It also provides a forum for the 200-250 attendees to share best practices and case studies related to the training of responders and emergency managers.
The 2022 event will be the first in-person NPS since 2019.
