CDP implements HID course updates

FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) recently implemented several updates to its Barrier Precautions and Controls for Highly Infectious Disease (HID) Course.

The CDP’s Training and Education Directorate regularly reviews courses for needed revisions.

The minor changes made to the four-day HID course were based on instructor and course manager recommendations and will keep the course information and exercise scenarios current and practical.

The HID course teaches healthcare responders how to safely triage, transport and treat individuals with highly infectious diseases. It includes both classroom work and extensive practical training in an isolation ward.
