CDP improving infrastructure, facilities

FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) recently completed two sizable paving projects and is gearing up to begin another.

During the past month, aging parking lots at the CDP’s main building and its Chemical, Ordnance, Biological and Radiological Training Facility received new pavement as part of a campus-wide improvement project.

The overall project involves several smaller projects, including the replacement of flooring in the main CDP building and its Noble Training Facility (NTF), and the replacement of portions of the NTF roof.

Later this year, aging asphalt in the NTF parking lots will be replaced with concrete.

Other projects on tap include:

  • Replacement of the exterior doors and remaining original brick on the exterior of the NTF with energy-saving materials.
  • Renovation of a dorm in the Responder Lodging Complex.
  • Construction of a new connector roadway in the Responder Lodging Complex.
