CDP Instructor Development Training Week scheduled

FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) will offer a week of on-campus train-the-trainer courses September 10-15.

Train-the-trainer courses serve as a force multiplier, enabling participants to take information they learn at the CDP back to fellow responders in their organization and communities. The center offers instructor development and train-the-trainer courses for a variety of professional disciplines, including law enforcement, healthcare, emergency management, and the fire service.

Courses planned for this year’s Instructor Development Training Week include:

Bomb Threat Management Planning Course, in conjunction with Integrating Communications, Assessment and Tactics (ICAT) and ICAT Train-the-Trainer, which are conducted with the assistance of the Office for Bombing Prevention and the Police Executive Research Forum. Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents (HERT) and HERT - Basic Train-the-Trainer, which focus on healthcare facility response during a mass casualty incident. For more information, visit https://cdp.dhs.gov/training/course/PER-902.

Initial Law Enforcement Response to Suicide Bombing Attacks and Law Enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response Train-the-Trainer, instructed by Louisiana State University's National Center for Biomedical Research and Training, Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education. Law Enforcement Protective Measures for Complex Incidents (LEPM) and LEPM Train-the-Trainer, in conjunction with Intermediate Hands-On Training for CBRNE Incidents: Law Enforcement, and Law Enforcement Response Actions for CBRNE Incidents, which focus on protective measures officers need to employ in the event of a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or explosive incident. Radiological Series Train-the-Trainer, which is a four-day course associated with FEMA’s Radiological Emergency Preparedness Program for individuals identified by their states to provide radiological training in their jurisdictions. Instructor Training Week offerings, like all training at the CDP, are fully funded for state, local, tribal and territorial responders, including round-trip travel, lodging and meals.
