CDP offers hazmat awareness refresher training
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) offers responders a wide variety of self-paced, web-based training courses which can be accessed anywhere, through a computer or mobile device.
Among the offerings is Hazardous Materials Awareness Refresher.
The four-hour course provides students with annual refresher training necessary to maintain Hazardous Materials Awareness-Level certification. The course teaches students how to identify hazardous materials utilizing the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Emergency Response Guidebook and use hazard communication documents to determine awareness-level personal and public protective actions.
Responders interested in the training can learn more by visiting https://cdp.dhs.gov/training/course/AWR-358-dL-R.
Course registration requires a FEMA Student Identification Number or SID. To complete the one-time registration process for a SID, visit https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid/register.
