CDP partners with DisasterReady.org to promote online courses, training videos
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness is partnering with the program DisasterReady to promote a number of the center’s virtual (online) training offerings.
DisasterReady provides free, high-quality learning resources to humanitarian and emergency management professionals across the globe. It hosts a catalog of more than 1,000 courses, videos, and reference documents on its website – www.DisasterReady.org – which welcomes more than 150,000 visitors each month.
The CDP’s COVID-19 training videos – ‘COVID-19 Training for Health Workers: Preparedness and Response’ and ‘Managing the Message: Communication and Media Management in a Security Crisis’ – are currently hosted on the site. Additional CDP training material will be added in the future.
According to CDP Superintendent Tony Russell, the CDP-DisasterReady partnership is invaluable.
“DisasterReady’s online training provides value added competency-building offerings for the Center for Domestic Preparedness and emergency responders,” he said. “Our combined content will strengthen emergency response across the country.”
