CDP plans summer release of HMT refresher course
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) expects to finalize and release a self-paced, web-based refresher version of its resident Hazardous Materials Technician (HMT) Course this summer.
The CDP’s Curriculum Development and Evaluation team is currently fine tuning the instructional material and storyboarding of the course.
The CDP’s resident HMT course spans five days and is aligned with NFPA 1072: Standard for Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Emergency Response Personnel Professional Qualifications and NFPA 472 standards.
When the refresher course is released, it could potentially meet OSHA requirements for eight hours of refresher training.
