CDP prepares responders for 2024 Republican National Convention
More than 80 responders from Wisconsin attended training at the Center for Domestic Preparedness this week to enhance their skills in advance of the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
The responders participated in Healthcare Leadership for Mass Casualty Incidents, Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents, Environmental Health Training in Emergency Response Operations, Emergency Medical Operations for CBRNE Incidents and Managing Public Information for All Hazards Incidents courses.
The training is important since Milwaukee expects the convention in July to draw tens of thousands of visitors to the Fiserv Forum and other venues in the area.
The CDP routinely helps states and local jurisdictions prepare to host national special security events, such as the Republican and Democratic National Conventions and the Super Bowl.
In recent months, the CDP has also provided training to law enforcement officers from Chicago as part of their preparations for the 2024 Democratic National Convention in that city.
