CDP prepares to release new VILT courses

FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) is readying two Virtual Instructor-Led Training offerings, or VILTs, for release – Healthcare Facilities Evacuation and Healthcare Patient Decontamination.

The Healthcare Facilities Evacuation VILT is a 2-hour offering, intended to prepare healthcare facilities for patient evacuation in the event of a disaster or emergency.

The 2-hour Healthcare Facility Patient Decontamination VILT will instruct healthcare workers on decontamination procedures of patients who may have been exposed to hazardous materials.

The CDP is currently only scheduling VILTs for responders preparing for special events and cohort groups. Cohort groups are organizations within the same community, county or state who function together.
