CDP preparing for 2023 Tribal Nations Training Week
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) is finalizing plans for its next Tribal Nations Training Week, which will be conducted March 11-18, 2023.
In addition to a week of resident courses, the CDP will also offer several Virtual Instructor-Led Training courses between March 20 and April 6.
The theme of the event, Healing the Nations. Strong, Unified, Prepared, was chosen earlier this year by a working group comprised of responders from five tribal nations and representatives from the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NPDC) – which includes the CDP – and the Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium (RDPC).
The working group identified 20 capability gaps from the hazard vulnerability assessments of more than 40 tribal nations or entities. Sixteen of those gaps will be addressed by courses offered during the training week.
CDP training is fully funded for state, local, tribal, and territorial emergency responders, to include roundtrip airfare, meals and lodging.
Specific course offerings and registration information for the 2023 event is scheduled to be released in October.
