CDP preparing for National Preparedness Symposium

The CDP is continuing to prepare for the 2019 National Preparedness Symposium, which it will host May 21-23 on its campus in Anniston, Al.

The annual three-day event provides attendees – including state, local, tribal and territorial training officers, federal preparedness coordinators, and others – the latest information about FEMA preparedness training offerings and those of its domestic training partners.  Attendees also have the opportunity to share best practices and case studies related to the training of SLTT responders and emergency managers.

According to event organizers, this year’s conference will include a number of large-group lectures on topics such as the national response framework and cyberterrorism.  In addition, it will include more than a dozen breakout sessions on topics such as improvement planning after exercises and real world events, training grants, and ‘homegrown terrorism and violent extremists: signs and recent events.’

An optional tour of the CDP’s all-hazards training facilities is also planned.
