CDP recognizes trainers
The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) recently released the list of trainers in its Indirect Training Program who achieved noteworthy training levels during fiscal year 2022.
The CDP recognizes indirect trainers who train a certain number of students or deliver a certain quantity of classes in a fiscal year. ‘Bronze’ status is awarded to trainers with 75 students or six class deliveries, ‘Silver’ status is awarded to trainers who instruct 150 students or deliver 10 classes, and ‘Gold’ status is awarded to those who trained 250 students or delivered 15 classes.
Among the 13 Gold-level trainers for the period are five members of the New York City Fire Department; five employees of Saint Francis Hospital in New York; a university professor and hazardous materials responder from Virginia; and healthcare trainers from Dallas, Texas; and Fargo, North Dakota.
In addition to the Gold-level trainers, the CDP recognized two Silver- and 27 Bronze-level trainers.
The center’s Indirect Training Program consists of responders who volunteer to teach CDP course material to others in their organization, community, or both, but who are not full-time instructors. The individuals must be graduates of the courses they instruct as well as that course’s associated train-the-trainer course.
