CDP releases August resident training numbers

FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) has released the number of course completions recorded in August by those who trained on its campus in Anniston, Alabama.

The CDP recorded more than 1,100 course completions in 34 resident deliveries during the month, including Hazardous Materials Operations, Law Enforcement Protective Measures for Complex Incidents, and Healthcare Emergency Response Operations for CBRNE Incidents courses.

The month also saw the CDP conduct training for National Guardsmen from Washington, D.C., members of the Tennessee State Highway Patrol and nursing students from Georgia College.

“I frequently respond to medical calls in labs. so being aware of how to handle hazmat incidents will help me better protect myself, my crew, and my peers,” said one student.

CDP training is provided free of charge to state, local, tribal, and territorial emergency responders, including round-trip transportation, meals, and lodging.
