CDP releases climate awareness prerequisite
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) has implemented a climate awareness lesson as a pre-requisite for students taking courses through the center.
Climate Essentials for Emergency Managers is a one-hour course designed to build awareness of climate hazards and impacts those in the emergency services may face. It helps responders better prepare for climate-related vulnerabilities and identify possible solutions.
The course includes instruction on resources one may use to implement climate strategies in their communities.
The course is available at the following link: https://cdp.dhs.gov/training/course/AWR-950-W.
Course registration requires a FEMA Student Identification Number or SID. To complete the one-time registration process for a SID, visit https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid/register.
