CDP Releases June Training Numbers
The CDP has released its training numbers for the month of June.
During the month, the Center conducted 57 courses for 1,852 students on its campus in Anniston, AL, and 175 courses for 3,318 students at sites across the U.S. and its territories.
Resident Training during the month was highlighted by the following courses and participants:
Law Enforcement Protective Measures
- Seven members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indian Police Department (NC) and three Saipan Homeland Security Law Enforcement Officers. Note: The three Saipan responders also participated in Incident Command: Capabilities, Planning and Response Actions for All Hazards training the following week.
Emergency Medical Operations for CBRNE Incidents
- 10 members of the Indiana National Guard who are part of a CBRNE Enhanced Response Force Package.
Environmental Health Training in Emergency Response
- Five environmental health specialists from King County, WA and three environmental investigators from Harris County, TX.
Healthcare Leadership for Mass Casualty Incidents with Integrated Capstone Event (ICE)
- The chief of operations for Adventist Health in Bakersfield, CA.
- The president of the Los Angeles, CA, Emergency Nurses Association.
- 16 healthcare providers from Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha, NE.
- Four senior managers from the University of Colorado’s Health Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO.
- The vice president of hospital operations for the Metro Health System in Cleveland, OH.
- The director of Texas Health Resources in Arlington, TX.
- 75 members of the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS).
Hazardous Materials Awareness and Hazardous Materials Basic Responder for Mass Casualty Incidents
- Seven members of the Chinle Service Unit (Navajo Nation), a responder from the Pinon Health Center (Navajo Nation), and three representatives from the Robinson Rancheria (Nice, CA).
Hazardous Materials Operations
- 11 members from various states who are part of the National Guard’s CBRNE Enhanced Response Force.
- Six members of the Fort Worth, TX, Police Department.
Hazardous Materials Technician
- Two representatives from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, a representative from the Department of State, and a representative from the National Security Agency.
- Five members of the Mohegan Tribal Fire Department in Connecticut.
Hazardous Materials Technologies: Sampling, Monitoring, and Detection
- A Department of State medical officer.
- Five members of the Bexar County, TX, Fire Department.
- 26 U.S. Coast Guard Strike Team members.
- The CDP also hosted the Transportation Technology Center, Inc., which conducted its Tactical Hazardous Materials Operations in Surface Transportation course; the National Center for Biomedical Research and Training, which conducted its Critical Decision Making for Complex Coordinated Attacks/Law Enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response course; and the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Bombing Prevention, which conducted its Bombing Prevention Awareness course.
Non-resident training, meanwhile, was highlighted by the following courses and participants:
Field Force Extrication
- 48 members of the Pennsylvania State Police.
Field Force Operations
- 60 members of the Raleigh, NC. Police Department.
- 60 members of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
- 60 members of the Chesterfield, VA, Police Department.
- 60 members of the Fayetteville, NC, Police Department.
- 120 members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg, NC, Police Department.
Standardized Awareness Training
- 540 New York City Police Department Academy cadets.
