CDP releases list of September resident course offerings
The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) has released its resident training calendar for the month of September, which includes a week devoted to train-the-trainer classes.
The CDP’s Instructor Development Training Week will include offerings of Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents and Integrating Communications, Assessment and Tactics, and their associated train-the-trainer courses, along with other training from the CDP and its partner organizations. Additional information about the week will be released later this month.
Hazardous materials offerings in September include the center’s Hazardous Materials Operations; Hazardous Materials Technologies: Sampling, Monitoring, and Detection; Hazardous Materials Technician; and Disaster Related Exposure Assessment and Monitoring courses.
The CDP’s Field Force Operations and Field Force Extrication Tactics courses are the month’s law enforcement offerings.
Healthcare training during the month includes Framework for Healthcare Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Operations for CBRNE Incidents (EMO) and Environmental Health Training in Emergency Response Operations courses. The EMO class will culminate in an Integrated Capstone Event, or ICE – as a comprehensive exercise where students work together to respond to simulated incidents patterned after real-world events.
During September, the CDP will also offer its Incident Command: Capabilities, Planning and Response Actions for All Hazards; Respiratory Protection: Program Development and Administration; and Managing Public Information for All- Hazards Incidents courses.
Registration for these courses is currently open. To apply, visit https://cdp.dhs.gov/training-calendar.
