CDP releases May resident course schedule

The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) has released its resident training calendar for the month of May.

The CDP’s law enforcement offerings during the month include Field Force Extrication Tactics and Field Force Operations courses.

Healthcare training includes Emergency Medical Operations for CBRNE Incidents and Healthcare Leadership for Mass Casualty Incidents (HCL) courses. The HCL class will culminate in an Integrated Capstone Event or ICE – a comprehensive exercise where students work together to respond to simulated mass casualty incidents.

Hazardous materials offerings during the month include its Hazardous Materials Technologies: Sampling, Monitoring, and Detection; Hazardous Materials Technician; Hazardous Materials Awareness; and Respiratory Protection: Program Development and Administration courses.

The CDP is also offering its Instructor Training Course – a 32-hour training course which provides instruction in adult learning, instructional delivery, use of technology in a classroom, and assessment of student learning outcomes.

Additionally, the center’s Incident Command: Capabilities, Planning and Response Actions for All Hazards Course is being offered. This three-day course provides responders working in supervisory positions with the knowledge of how decisions can impact the handling of a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive (CBRNE) incident.

Registration for all these courses is currently open. To apply, visit https://cdp.dhs.gov/training-calendar.
