CDP Releases May Training Numbers

The CDP has released its training numbers for the month of May.

During the month, the Center conducted 29 courses for 1,205 students on its campus in Anniston, AL, and 192 courses for 3,881 students at sites across the U.S. and its territories.

Resident Training during the month was highlighted by five members of the State Department attending the Radiological Emergency Response Operations (RERO) course; seven law enforcement officers from Milwaukee, WI attending Field Force Operations (FFO) training (Milwaukee is scheduled to host the Democratic National Convention in 2020); three Dawson County, MT deputy sheriffs attending Field Force Extrication Tactics (FFE) training (The Dakota Access Pipeline is scheduled to be installed in the county); and 25 members of the Northern Utah Healthcare Coalition and Minnesota Health and Medical Preparedness Coalition attending the Healthcare Coalition Response Leadership (HCRL) course.

Non-resident training, meanwhile, was highlighted by the CDP’s training of more than 700 responders in Puerto Rico over a two-week span. The training included the CDP’s Health Care Leadership for Mass Casualty Incidents (HCL), Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents (HERT), and Barrier Precautions and Controls for Highly-Infectious Diseases (HID) courses, along with multiple one-day Health Sector Emergency Preparedness classes.
