CDP releases new VILT courses
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) recently implemented two new Virtual Instructor-Led Training offerings, or VILTs – Healthcare Facilities Evacuation and Healthcare Patient Decontamination.
The Healthcare Facilities Evacuation VILT is a two-hour offering which shows medical professionals how to safely evacuate a healthcare facility in preparation for, during, or after a disaster or emergency. For more information, visit https://cdp.dhs.gov/training/course/AWR-934-V12.
The Healthcare Facility Patient Decontamination VILT is also a two-hour offering. It provides medical professionals with awareness-level understanding of decontamination procedures for patients who may have been exposed to hazardous materials. For additional information, visit https://cdp.dhs.gov/training/course/AWR-934-V14.

Editor’s note: The CDP is currently only scheduling VILTs for responders preparing for special events and select cohort groups. Cohort groups are organizations within the same community, county or state who function together during emergencies.
