CDP releases non-resident, indirect training numbers for December
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) this week released its non-resident and indirect training numbers for December.
The CDP conducted 21 non-resident courses for 660 responders and 45 indirect courses for 710 responders during the month, it said.
Non-resident courses are delivered by contract CDP instructors at locations across the United States. Indirect courses are delivered by volunteer responders to others in their organization, community, or both. The volunteer responders must be graduates of the courses they instruct as well as that course’s associated train-the-trainer course.
Non-resident training during December included the CDP’s Field Force Operations courses delivered to responders in Suffolk County, New York, and Chicago.
Indirect training during December included the CDP’s Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents, Hazardous Materials Awareness and Public Order and Public Safety – Basic courses delivered to responders in Cincinnati and Cleveland, Ohio; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Harrisonburg, Virginia; Clearwater and Tarpon Springs, Florida; Ann Arbor, Michigan; and Hamilton, Montana.
Since opening in 1998, the CDP has trained more than 1.3 million responders. That number includes responders trained online; on the CDP’s campus in Anniston, Alabama; and at locations across the United States and its territories.
