CDP releases non-resident, indirect training numbers for June

FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness has released its non-resident and indirect training numbers for June.

The CDP conducted 65 non-resident courses for 1,498 responders and 44 indirect courses for 555 responders during the month, it said.

Non-resident courses are delivered by contract CDP instructors at locations across the United States. Indirect courses are delivered by volunteer responders to others in their organization, community, or both. The volunteer responders must be graduates of the courses they instruct as well as that course’s associated train-the-trainer course.

The non-resident training included the CDP’s Field Force Extraction Tactics, Field Force Operations, Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents, Law Enforcement Protective Measures and Law Enforcement Response Actions for CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives) Incidents, and Standardized Awareness Training courses delivered to responders in Breezy Point, New York; Coral Springs and Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Braggs, Oklahoma; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Los Angeles, California.

The indirect training included the CDP’s HERT and SAT courses delivered to responders in Lewiston, Maine; Ridgewood, New York; Baltimore, Maryland; Burgaw, North Carolina; West Palm Beach, Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana; Arlington and Dallas, Texas; Dickson, Indiana; Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Fargo, North Dakota.

Since opening in 1998, the CDP has trained more than 1.3 million responders. That number includes responders trained online; on the CDP’s campus in Anniston, Alabama; and at locations across the United States and its territories.
