CDP releases non-resident, indirect training numbers for September
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) this week released its non-resident and indirect training numbers for September.
The CDP conducted 34 non-resident courses for 972 responders and 72 indirect courses for 1,077 responders during the month, the release said.
Non-resident courses are delivered by contract CDP instructors at locations across the United States. Indirect courses are delivered by volunteer responders to others in their organization, community, or both. The volunteer responders must be graduates of the courses they instruct as well as that course’s associated train-the-trainer course.
Non-resident training during September included the CDP’s Field Force Operations and Law Enforcement Protective Measures courses delivered to responders, including academy recruits, in Providence, Rhode Island; New York City, New York; Harris County, Texas; and Los Angeles, California.
Indirect training during September included the CDP’s Hazardous Materials Awareness and Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents courses delivered to responders in Smyrna, Tennessee; Delray Beach, Florida; Kankakee, Illinois; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Greeley, Colorado; Buckeye, Arizona; Salinas, California; Corvallis, Oregon; and Honolulu, Hawaii.
Since opening in 1998, the CDP has trained more than 1.3 million responders. That number includes responders trained online; on the CDP’s campus in Anniston, Alabama; and at locations across the United States and its territories.
