CDP releases September resident training numbers

FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) has released the number of course completions recorded in September by those who trained on its campus in Anniston, Alabama.

The CDP recorded more than 1,500 course completions in 46 resident deliveries during the month, including its Disaster Related Exposure Assessment and Monitoring; Hazardous Materials Technician; and Integrating Communications, Assessment and Tactics courses.

The center hosted its annual Instructor Training Week in September, training more than 150 responders to formally take information they learn at the CDP back to fellow responders in their organization and communities.

The month also saw the CDP conduct training in support of the 2024 Republican National Convention as well as training for the Rhode Island Hospital Association.

“There is no way I would have learned and retained even a quarter of this information if this course was online. In-person training is the most effective way of understanding and mastering this course,” said one student.

CDP training is provided free of charge to state, local, tribal, and territorial emergency responders, including round-trip transportation, meals, and lodging.
