CDP releases web-based training numbers for April
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness has released its number of web-based course completions for April.
The CDP recorded 2,905 web-based course completions during the month. Completions result from responders attending one or more Virtual-Instructor-Led Training (VILT) presentations or taking one or more self-paced courses in the center’s online training library.
Responders are reminded that the CDP is currently scheduling VILTs for cohorts and responders preparing for select special events only. Cohort groups are organizations within the same community, county or state who work together in emergencies.
Doing this enables the CDP to devote time to converting its library of more than 60 VILTs to on-demand training offerings, allowing the courses to be available to students at their convenience.
The CDP’s online training library already consists of more than 20 courses in a variety of disciplines (i.e. Fire Services, Healthcare, Law Enforcement).
Brief descriptions about each of the CDP’s online offerings, as well as information on how to register for the courses, can be found at https://cdp.dhs.gov/online_course.
