CDP releases web-based training numbers for December
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness has released its number of web-based course completions for December.
The CDP recorded 2,659 web-based course completions during the month. Completions result from responders attending one or more Virtual-Instructor-Led Training (VILT) presentations or taking one or more self-paced courses in the center’s online training library.
Students are reminded the CDP currently is in the process of converting its entire library of Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) offerings to web-based distance learning courses, which will allow students to take the offerings on demand, at their convenience. Additionally, while that conversion is underway the CDP is only scheduling VILTs for responders preparing for certain special events and cohort groups. Cohort groups are organizations within the same community, county or state who operate together.
The CDP’s online training library currently consists of more than 20 courses for responders in a variety of disciplines (i.e. Fire Services, Healthcare, Law Enforcement).
Brief descriptions about each of the CDP online offerings, as well as information on how to register for the courses, can be found at https://cdp.dhs.gov/online_course.
