CDP releases web-based training numbers for January
FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness has released its number of web-based course completions for January.
The CDP recorded 1,898 web-based course completions during the month. Completions result from responders attending one or more Virtual-Instructor-Led Training (VILT) presentations or taking one or more self-paced courses in the center’s online training library.
The CDP is currently in the process of converting its extensive library of Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) offerings to web-based distance learning courses. This conversion will allow the courses to be available to students on-demand, enabling them to take the offerings at their convenience.
Because of the conversion, the CDP is only scheduling VILTs for responders preparing for select special events and cohort groups. Cohort groups are organizations within the same community, county or state who work together in emergencies.
The CDP’s online training library currently consists of more than 20 courses for responders in a variety of disciplines (i.e. Fire Services, Healthcare, Law Enforcement).
Brief descriptions about each of the CDP online offerings, as well as information on how to register for the courses, can be found at https://cdp.dhs.gov/online_course.
