CDP September resident course schedule released
The Center for Domestic Preparedness will host its annual Tribal Nations Training Week Sept. 12-19. This year’s training tracks include hazardous materials training, healthcare courses, law enforcement training, cyber preparedness, community safety, emergency operations planning, strategic national stockpile training and explosives response. The CDP’s Law Enforcement Theme Week will be held Sept. 20-26. Course tracks for this week include Surveillance Detection, Field Force Extrication Tactics, Field Force Operations, Law Enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response, and Law Enforcement Protective Measures. Each track will incorporate a hands-on, capstone exercise so all students applying their newly acquired skills to resolve simulated scenarios involving protests, CBRNE incidents and terrorist threats in realistic training environments.

- Healthcare courses scheduled include the Barrier Precautions and Controls for Highly Infectious Disease, Healthcare Leadership for Mass Casualty Incidents (HCL) and Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents (HERT).
- Each iteration of the HCL and HERT courses will culminate in an Integrated Capstone Event, a comprehensive exercise where students work together in response to simulated mass casualty incidents.
- Hazardous materials offerings include the center’s Hazardous Materials Operations, Hazardous Materials Technician and Respiratory Protection: Program Development and Administration courses.
- The CDP is offering additional iterations of its Field Force Extrication Tactics and Field Force Operations the week of September 6-12.
- Additionally, the CDP will offer its Incident Command: Capabilities, Planning and Response Actions for All Hazards (IC) course in September. The IC course is geared to management-level responders who may supervise hazardous material response incidents. Participants evaluate threats, identify and prioritize probable targets, measure required capabilities, and discuss the Incident Response Plan and Incident Action Plan processes.
