CDP Superintendent featured on Florida sheriff’s podcast
A ‘Shop Talk with the Sheriff’ podcast posted earlier today features Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) Superintendent Tony Russell.
Broward County, Florida, Sheriff Gregory Tony’s podcast covers topics such as police reform, technological advancements in public safety, and initiatives designed to enhance community trust. On average, a new podcast airs about every other week.
“We’ve benefitted greatly from the relationship we’ve built out with FEMA over the last four years,” said the sheriff.
In his 19-minute segment, Russell talks about his years of service to the nation, the mission of the CDP, the center’s partnership with the Broward Sheriff’s Office, and a recent BSO tabletop exercise.
“When you respond, you have to respond together. You have to communicate; you have to work together,” said Russell of the exercise, which tested the response capabilities of multiple county agencies.
“And, what you have built down in Broward is exactly that,” he said.
