CDP updating EMO Course

FEMA’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) is updating its Emergency Medical Operations for CBRNE Incidents (EMO) Course.

The four-day offering, which teaches responders how to effectively react to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive (CBRNE) mass casualty incident, is being reviewed by CDP subject matter experts. The updated course is expected to be finalized this summer.

EMO includes extensive hands-on training, culminating with a demanding practical exercise, and is often paired with the CDP’s Intermediate Hands-On Training for CBRNE Incidents (HOT-I) Course, which is also being reviewed for updates.

HOT-I is a one-day offering which includes training at the CDP’s Chemical, Ordnance, Biological and Radiological (COBRA) Training Facility.
